I am using DVIO to capture mini DV from my sony video camera, using VSO DivxTODVD for the conversion to dvd, using DVD SHRINK to make an ISO image and DVD DECRYPTER to burn. when I view the finished product (on computer and tv from dvd player) I see interlace (or field/frame) errors! what is causing this? is it one of the programs I am using? I use sony blanks and have the NEC 3420A (?) burner, and have not made a single coaster of the 50+ dvd movie backups I have made.
Firstly why do you need to Make an ISO file from the Video_TS folder?? You can just as easilly Burn the Video_TS folder to DVD useing something like Nero and save Lots of Time.....
Well the Problem Could be that DivXtoDVD is encodeing your DV AVI files useing the Wrong field Order which is why you are seeing interlace artifacts on your TV set (You will allways see interlace Artifacts on your PC when Viewing interlaced Content because PC Monitors are not meant to Display interlaced Content)...
Since DivXtoDVD has No settings for adjusting the encodeing Perameters you will Probably have to Put the DV AVI File on to DVD useing the Proper AVI to DVD Method (Which means Not useing a Crappy One Click no brainer program Like DivXToDVD).....
If you used a proper Mpeg-2 encoder you would be able to adjust the Field order (Bottom field First for DV AVI files) or Simply De-interlace the Whole File so there are no interlace artifacts and after encodeing the File to Mpeg-2/DVD you would use a Proper DVD authoring program to add your menu"s and Chapters and to Format it all into a "Video_TS" folder which it would Then Burn to DVD For you or you can use a seperate Program to Burn the "Video_TS" to DVD Like Nero in "DVD Video" Mode....
You will Notice that when useing a Good Quality Mpeg encoder that you will get a Much better quality DVD useing a Lower bitrate so you can Fit more Video on a DVD...I can Fit at least 2 Full 90 minute Movies on a Single DVD with better quality than DivXtoDVD can do when Just Putting One Movie on a DVD pluss I have Fancy menu"s and Scene selections and Chapters which DivXtoDVD (Freeware Version) can not do, actually it can only one thing.....
