Help!!! Newbie needs to know how to use a VOB file

Hi! I'm trying to rip video files into a format that I can use with video editing software. I ripped the files I want using decrypter but they are VOB files. I can use .wmv, .avi, or mpegs just to name a few.

How do I get VOB files into a format that I can use?

Get SmartRipper, and under one of the tabs is a section Stream Processing. You need to play with a few settings and make it decrypt the DVD into separate streams. Then you will be left with separate audio and video streams, like .m2v and .AC3. You can then play with the .AC3 files in varioius sound editors to convert to more useful audio formats. Maybe there is a tutorial?

Kind of covers it... You need to turn on the Demux To Extra File setting, then once you select what streams you want, go back to the Input tab and select the titles you want to grab.
