Hi, I am ripping to VCD with smartripper, DVD2AVI, TMPGEN and nero.
I use the standard PAL template but the only problem is that when playing the VCD on my standalone DVD player I get slight audio sync problems, this only happens a few times in the movie at random places and will then go into syn again, I am just being picky or is there a solution?

if it works good in the computer then its the dvd player(so i am told) mine does the same thing..its just every once in a while during a movie...i also thought it might be something in nero..not sure.

Same here. Get audio sync problems only once in a while during the movie, sometimes every 10 minutes it jumps out of sync. I have a Philips DVD-623 player. Had an APEX DVD player and it was even worse. The VCD plays perfectly on my computer, no sync problems. Can it be the quality of the CDR's ??? I'm using Philips CD-R80 CDR's. They cost around $40 for 100.

Just figured out why I was getting out of sync problems once in a while in the movie. I was using FORCED FILM in the DVD2AVI program. I turned it off and I now also turn on High in the Audio menu under 48 -> 44.1 option. I was using an old DVD to VCD guide that I found on another web-site, which I have had luck with when recording older DVD movies, but not newer ones. I'm using SmartRipper, DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc and the guide from this forum.
