This is my first attempt at slightly modifying my ps2 slimline. I bought the flip-top cover but had a problem with the disk not spinning up, re-installed it a couple of times and still it was hitting the sensor at the bottom left, so I re-installed the original and taped off the top right and bottom left sensors. It seems to be working ok, but does anyone see any possible problems with this (besides having to retape it every once in a while.

No. The flip top with the slim line has caused people numerous problems. This tape and tissue mod was developed by Pretense: If the fliptop doesn't work, just give up on it and do a tape and tissue mod. Open up your case again and tape the back sensor (toward the upper left and beneath the hinge part of the lid) with duct tape or even regular Scotch tape (I use several layers to be on the safe side), put the case back together, and stuff a small ball of tissue into the hole for the front sensor (lower right just above the power button).

I gave up on installing my fliptop because I ended up stripping one of the lid screws. The tape mod has served me well for over six months so far.

Yeah I just taped down both switches and it seems to be working perfectly (so far). The flip-top wasnt hitting the rear switch and by the third try i just ripping the f*cker out and did it the easier way.
