please help with compressing dvd size!

i used smart ripper to rip a dvd and the size is over 5gb! how do i compress it to less than a gig? or even to put it on a cd.

First of all you MUST download

1.)Smartripper or DVD Decrypter (I prefer DVD Decrypter, i find it easier, both work though)
2.)DVD2AVI
3.)DivX codec ad DivX video player (usually can get in a bundle from DIvX.com
4.)MP3 codec
5.)VirtualDub
To find these go on google and type it in the download of all of these is free

STEP 1.)Before ripping make sure you are NOT splitting the files, make sure its one big file, its easier.

2.) downloaad DVD2AVI this converts the ripped VOB file to AVI and compresses the file. When saving files in DVD2AVI choose the DivX codec. (you can find a more indepth guide on-line this is just to point you in the right direction)select the file you want to convert and press "save" the conversion?compression should take a few hours.

3.) When the file are done you sould have 2 small files audio/video, open virtualdub open the video file and then the audio file select full processing mode under audio and video. then compress (AGAIN SEARCH ON-LINE FOR A BETTER GUIDE)

there it is a free movie copy, its great.

DONT GIVE UP LEARNING THIS, IT TOOK ME MONTHS BUT ONCE YOU GOT IT ITS WELL WORTH THE TIME. I I LEARNED IT ANYONE CAN, TRUST ME, i'm really dumb when it comes to computers.
