Weird PS2 Problem....Need Help!!!!!

Ok i own a SCPH-30001/R PS2, I put a game in yesterday and nothing happend, So i opened it up and took the cd drive lid off to see what was going on, I turned it on and the spindle would move....But when i put a game in it only moves about a 1/4 of a turn and it will pause for a second and then do it 4 more times, 5 1/4 turns totall, But when i tap on the lid (Pretty lightly) to the CD drive it will kick on, I looked around and cant see what the problem would be, (Like a pinched ribbon or something) If someone out there knows what could be causing this please let me know, I really dont want to have to leave my PS2 open and tap on the cd drive to get the games to spin, Thanks in advance!
