I would like to back up my ps2 games, and im not sure if my media will work. Its a mexell dvd-r,up to 8x,4.7gb.

 Maxell is good media .. If it's made in Japan it's better than the made in Taiwan stuff ... But they're both good

 I recommend trying the Maxell, just burn it as slow as your burner will allow

as far as i know on ps2 back ups, you need to burn at 2.4 times with good media.....
but scan the ps2 forums for more info/reads.

the maxell should be fine other brands to consider are Taiyo Yuden,Verbatim or Ritek burn at 2X max. and DVD Decrypter is a great program for burning games

most important for ps2 backups is the burn speed
as slow as possible

How did those mexells get across the border? LOL!

DanielNYC: What's the brand name and model# of your dvd burner?

Some of those ps2s can be very picky when it comes to playing backups.Some burners favor a certain format or brand name of media,like wise for ps2 and stand alone players.
