For NHL 2006 burn it at 1x with DVD Decrypter. Here's a tutorial: http://home.earthlink.net/~moderator/id3.html Use good DVD-R's like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, TDK, Maxell, Phillips, or Sony. If that doesn't work try burning at 2x then 4x.

Try DVD-R's. What kind of DVD+R's are you using?

Does your burner support booktyping? Basically the ability to burn a DVD+R as a DVD-ROM. If so try that. Also slow your speed to 1x and see if that helps. From Mort, an AD addict: Dvd-rom is the most compatable format (same as new pressed dvd's) and should play fine in your player that plays dvd-r's. If you are having good luck with dvd-r's you can stay with them. One advantage to dvd+r's booktyped to dvd-rom is if you have family and friends that borrow your backup dvd's there is a better chance that their set top players will play them than DVD-R or DVD+R as long as you use only good, high quality media and keep burn speed to 4x.

I finally got it working but it sticks and the music is looping. I wonder if its the release version i have? -GAMEOVER- Has anybody burned this release succesfully? I used Nero , alcohol, and dvddecrypter. dvddecrypter works best but it stills sti...sti..cks.
ANY SUGGESTIONS? i then burned shadow of the colossus and it ROCKS!

Yeah what I already said: burn slightly faster or slower, try different media.

I haven't burned ssx on tour yet, because I backed it up on to my hard drive and noticed the size is 4.38... So I'm guessing the game needs to be rebuilt for it to load with my swap magic. Has anyone rebuilt it and had it play correctly?

I don't know for certain, this game is pretty new. Not ALL games over 4.37 GB's need rebuilt, it's just a good rule of thumb. I'd say first try a straight burn with Decrypter, and then worry about rebuidling if that doesn't work. The worst you'll get out of it is a single coaster.

I've had a few too many coasters lately and I only have a few more blanks left before I go to the store so I'm not going to bother with it right now. I'm pretty sure it needs to be rebuilt though. Games i've had that are 4.37 had to be rebuilt, and this game is 4.38... so, yeah... Also, people already complained that they were getting the Not A Valid PS2 Disc message, which means the TOC was too high for swap magic to boot the disc...

Yeah could be a TOC refresh issue. Keep DVD-9 game on standy lol. Yeah I am stubborn with some games. I use Breaker Pro and a flip top to boot my PSX backups, and I've only had two problems. Legend of Mana won't boot and Wild Arms freezes after I start a new game. I must've wasted 20 CD-R's on LOM even though I knew after the first couple it was the image file.

I have a DVD-9 game (god of war) but how do I use it to refresh the TOC with swap magic to play a game with a higher TOC than on the swap magic disc... I've read that you can do that, but how?
