I have a Lite-on LDW401S ESOG (not ESOK) DVD+RW drive. I recently acquired the booktyping utility from the Lite-on site. When I put in my verbatim dvd+r disc the drive will read it but will say at the bottom of the utility "F/W not support!" What went wrong?

well...... I don't know about your software but....... try to booktype/bitset using DVDDecrypter. Just hit TOOLS .... then DRIVE ...... then change Booktype. make sure your SOURCE drive is your writer! If you Lite-on it should be listed and you should be able to booktype to DVD-ROM.

And I just thought of something..... make sure you are booktypeing/bitsetting your drive for DVD+Rs to DVD-ROMs! same thing for DVD+RWs to DVD-ROMs. By booktyping to DVD-ROMs you disks will be more compatible with DVD players. here is a link that will explain Booktyping/Bitsetting:
