Very loud noise

My PS2 is suddenly making this very loud, clicking sound, almost like you hear the disc spinning inside against something. It's doing it on originals and backups of PS2 games. Anyone know what this could be?

It happens, Not sure exactly what it is, my black one does it with CD disks, but so far my silver one hasn't started doing it yet.

Well, it kept freezing while making this noise, then today just plain wouldn't work. Cleaned the lens and it worked for a hour then wouldn't work again. Gave it a good whack in anger and it stopped and plays flawlessly now. LOL

I dropped it off a dresser a couple of weeks ago. I must of knocked something a little loose.
