i'm in university firewall,i installed socks2http but kazaa stell saying connecting....

please help.

Well Im not surprised it doesnt work, dont you have to sign up for a high speed?? people who get it to work usually are stuck with 1kb and 2kb downloads unless they pay a subscription or something!

You could try setting up a proxy with kazaa but that wouldnt help much either!

it really depends on how well protected it is against its use. A proxy server has worked for a lot of people but not for great speeds. Basically you need to now exactly how they are blocking kazaa on you!

Try this, open kazaa, click tools - options. Click the firewall tab. Try changing port 1214 to something else like 21 or 25 or 80 or something and try to see if kazaa will connect. However with the newest protection in Universities, this most likely won't work!

What about me; it asks for a proxy server to be able to change my port. so it needs a port number AND a IP address. ...eh? what do I do?

Find and learn how to setup a proxy server, you should be able to get a list from http://www.astalavista.com

just look under the privacy section!
