fried laser after installing summ0ne's fix?!

i've attempted to do a summ0ne's fix on my v12 console(with dms4lite installed a couple months ago). unfortunately, the laser was fried instantly after i powered it on. used 560ohm 1/2w resistor & 4.7k-ohm 1/4w resistor, could it be that 1/2w resistor thats causing the problem?

its hard to say but i always use 1/4 watt resistors
