games wont load from hdd

ive got a version 10 with magic v 5k6 in it,,,,,
i just stuck a maxtor 80 gb hdd in .....
slapped in hdloader,, formatted fine,,
proceeded to install games,,, looked good
went to load them form hdd,, and freezes at first screen of each game.
all games that i loaded on hdd boot up perfectly from the dvd drive.
HELP!!!!!

really tho,,, what could be the prob?
do i need to upgrade the magic v 5k6 bios/firmware?
and if so,, do i get that in usual places or is it hosted anywere?

did you check to see if those games require certain modes enabled to play them?
V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero |

Actually, no,,, however i did think of looking to change modes ,, as i can do on my OTHER ps2 which has a dms4 ezi pro with toxic 0.3,,,,
but with this here ps2 with a magic v 5k6, and using HDLoader dvd version 0.7 there is no, at least not apparent to me, option to change a mode of any kind!
So im still perplexed
Im kinda wonderin if i need maybe an updated firmware/bios on the chip in order to accomodate these games

it shouldn't matter what mod you have, when you run hd loader, you select the game's name and hit SELECT on your controller to get to the mode options.
