JVC GR-D295US MiniDV Digital Camcorder
This one can be bought on-line for $297, and can download digital video to my PC with a Firewire connection(as I've been told is much clearer than USB). Seems to have good features, plus a 25x optical zoom.

Has anyone had anything they don't like about this one?
