When I checked my package of TDK DVD+R disks with DVD Identifier and DVDInfo I got different results. DVD Identifier ID'd the disks as CMC MAG EO1 and DVDInfo ID'd them as YUDEN000TO2.

I'm relatively new at this, but after reading the forums for a few months I know enough that CMC Mag are supposedly junk and TY are supposedly excellent.

Which results am I to believe?

Are these from the same spindle? If so what is on the inner hub for a code? You can also put the disc in and open DVD Decrypter to see the mfr. Decrypter has never given me false results.

@jagfan,

I don't know about you, but all of my Taiyo Yuden media were identified by DVD Identifier, Nero CD-DVD Speed and DVD Decrypter as YUDEN000T02.

Where did you get your TDK DVD+R blanks from?

this situation DOES seem quite weird, i have YET to ever see a disc from the SAME SPINDLE code out differently, regardless of which media identifying program i've used...maybe it's just ME, but, this sounds quite absurd to me...ESPECIALLY since we are not even comparing apples to apples here...

so, you are telling me that in the SAME TDK (which i think is crap by the way) spindle you got a "CMC MAG EO1" coded discs (which justifies my opinion of TDK in general as being crap) and then further down/up the spindle you identified a SEPARATE/DIFFERENT disc and it and got a YUDEN000T02 coded MID???????

honestly, if THIS kind of stuff happened to ME, i would want to kill myself if i got the CMC MAG EO1 coded ones~ LOL

this is ridiculous to have a CRAP media disc be in the SAME MANUFACTURER's SEALED spindle as a GREAT QUALITY media disc~ it's like debating whether the glass is half EMPTY or half FULL~ :)

anyways, i just found this to be very peculiar...weird stuff..

docTY~ :)

hmmm..guess i read the post too fast and was just typing to myself (outloud to clear my thoughts) LOL...if THAT is the case, then, yes, it has happened to me before too~ :)

but on MY discrepency at the time, there wasn't such a HUGE GAP in terms of QUALITY of manufacturer...man, sometimes these companies can do the trickiest things with their MID coding on media...boggles the mind~ :)

docTY~
