I am doing a strait 1:1 copy of full spectrum warrior with dvd decrypter. It is set to burn at 8X but really burns at 1.6X. I am using verbatim dvd-r's with swap magic dvd 2.0. When i load the game after burning it gets to the first screen with the disc's across the middle of the screen and it stays there. i have used cd loader with many of the options but it still does not work.
All help is appreciated.

Lower your burn speed to 2x. Then try 4x if that doesn't work. Full Spectrum Warrior is a small game around 2.71 gig's so it shouldn't need rebuilt. Verbatim DVD-R's are good. No fix for it on SwapMagic fix.com so most likely this is a case of Swap Magic 2.0 rearing its ugly head. The simple answer is to upgrade to SM 3.6 and let 2.0 burn in hell. Here is a tutorial for DVD Decrypter: http://home.earthlink.net/~moderator/id3.html

Not to be rude or nothin, but i'm not some newbie, look at my rating, i've been here a while. anyway back to the topic, i was thinking the same thing about rebuilding. As for burn speed, like i said i set it at 8x but it burns at 1.6X. If i lower it it burns at like 0.6X.
As for swap magic 2.0, you think that could be the problem? I have been haveing freezing problems on my recent backups. i wasn't sure if it was my burner or swap magic or ps2 laser. do you think that 3.6 would fix my problems?

Yeah it should. The main problems people report with Swap Magic is the occasional cheap disk. Aside from that and rebuilding DVD-9 games it works great. Look at the lists of successful backups: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/179726 The author of this thread was using SM 3.3.

I think i'll try that, if it doesnt work then i'll go for the new burner. Do you have any preference on burners? I have a micro advantages but i'm looking at the new pioneers right now.

Dunno I don't actually have a DVD burner at present. I've been told that Sony Dual Layer burner's are very reliable. So I probably will look into the Sony DRU800A. Look around and see what looks good to you. Liteon's are supposed to be very reliable as well. BenQ is a low budget solution that's decent.

check yourself on that noob.

benq 1620/1640 are much better and cheaper than sony drives. plus sony drives are double the price of liteon and benq. get a benq 1640 or liteon 1693s

Who you callin noob, Jizzidius X? I was told by Steimy that Sony DVD burner's are of good quality. He says he has had great success with his. As he's an AD addict with more posts than the two of us combined, he probably know's what he's talking about. He went on to say that BenQ's are quality burner's they just don't have as much compatibility with certain types of media as some higher priced burners. Liteon is the OEM for a lot of Sony burner's by the way. I'm glad you're happy with your BenQ. Next time you wanna call somebody out, do your homework first.

Success is mine! I just received my swap magic 3.6 and it fixed the loading problem. Don't need a new burner now.

I have one more question, do you know how to fix those music/game sync errors. On the tony hawk AW the people start talking like 5 seconds after the subtitles have started or the movie has started. And in Delta force black hawk down when some says something like "You need destroy the enemy" It is more like "you need to destroy roy..roy..roy..roy..roy..roy..roy the..ee..ee..ee enemy..y..y..y..y..y. I have never had these problems in the past.

Try burning at 4x on 8x DVD-R's, if your burner will let you.

Well I talked to someone who has the latest Sony, Liteon, and BenQ. He said just to go with the BenQ, since it's basically the same burner as the DRU810A Sony DVD burner. So I probably will go with that.

there lies my problem, my burner will no longer let me burn at 4X. That used to be my lucky speed, never one coaster, but no matter what speed i tell ANY program to burn at, i get 1.6X maybe. And that is what was making me think it was my burner not swap magic. I'm kinda thinking my burner is at the end of it's days, but i'm not quite ready to throw down the cash for a new one.

Yeah you can pick up a BenQ 1640 for around $40. It works well from what I've heard.

thats good to to know, that will be considered. I'm kinda sceptical about liteon because of bad experience with my father's dvd player/burner.

There might be dummy files. I couldn't tell from that photo in the Socom 3 thread. Was that photo for Socom 3 or FSW?
