Hi, im very new to dvd burning so im having a whole lot of troubles. Ive gotten to the point where i can take files from my computer and throw them on a dvd to work in my dvd player, but im having a ton of issues figuaring out menus.

Ive recently aquired some episodes of a tv show that im trying to put on dvd. They started out as RMVB files. So i converted them using Winavi to my Audio_TS and Video_TS folders. In the Video_TS folders im showing the following files
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_0.VOB
VTS_02_0.BUP
VTS_02_0.IFO
VTS_02_0.VOB
and so on.

Now when i burn it to dvd it'll play in my dvd player but as expected if i try to go forward through the episodes (changing from the beginning of one episode to the next) it'll just skip every few mins of that episode till i get to the end and stop till that episode is finished. At that point it'll start the new episode and do the same. What im looking to do is create a very basic menu so i can choose which episode to watch or make it so i can skip from episode to episode just using the forward button on my remote. If someone can help me with what software id need and exactly what steps they think i should take id greatly appricaite it. Thanks

The best way i know to create a menu is use a good authoring software.

try using SpruceUp

or keep them unconverted and use Nero Vision Express with Nero 6 DVD burning Rom. NVE3 will allow you to custom make a menu

Win XP Home, AMD Sempron 3100+, 512Mb Ram.
16x Lite-On 1633S

thanks for the reply.
I ended up downloading SpruceUp and converted to mpeg2 but now im getting an error when i try to import the video. The error message i get is
"Error in the System Header - Information in its component elementary streams may be corrupted.
Fatal import error. Signifies a parameter not supported within the DVD specification. Indicates the file cannot be imported, and must be re-created compliant with the DVD specification. This error most often happens when importing a .VOB file (which are not supported for import by SpruceUp)."

Anybody got somethign else i can try or know how i can fix this and still make it work in a dvd player?

I got the 30 day trial of dvd lab pro ($200.00) and discovered it is a phenominal proggy. More than I'll ever need. But if you want great menues, its the way to go. Was pretty confusing getting started though. The manual has 269 pgs.
