Please re-edit your Nero Serial # that starts with 1A20-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX and 1A23-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX before someone steal it from you. To Edit your post, click on the little "pencil & paper icon" on the right hand that located on the orange bar, then re-edit out the post and hit save.

CdRomPeripheral : TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R2312 atapi Port 2 ID 0 DMA: On
One of your driver or dvd-rom drive DMA is off. DMA needs to enable back ON. To enable DMA back on, please follow the below steps to "uninstall" the DMA off driver back to ON.

((( To enable DMA back ON by "uninstalling" it's driver ?for Win XP users? )))

A) on "DESKTOP" right click on "MY COMPUTER", left click on "PROPERTIES"
B) left click on "HARDWARE", left click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
C) left click on +sign of DVD/CD-ROM Drives
D) double left click on your DVD burner or your dvd-rom drive
E) left click on "DRIVER", left click on "UNINSTALL", you will see a "Warning: you are about to uninstall this device from your system", just click "OK", now "SHUTDOWN" or "restart" your computer
F) once you restart your computer, Windows should automatically detect your DVD burner?s drive and re-install it for you. That's it...easy as smoking!!

NOTE: do these steps only if the above process failed to bring DMA back on, or you can do exactly like the above steps, except this time you "uninstall" it from the ?IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers?

(A) left click on + sign of IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers
(B) double left click on either Primary or Secondary IDE Channel (NOTE: you have to know where your "DVD Burner" or "DVD-ROM drive" is installed to what Channel). Usually it's the "Secondary IDE Channel" because your "C: drive or Hard Drive" would be the "main aka Primary IDE Channel" already. If you're not sure, then you need to check it with "Nero Toolkit" first before you "uninstall" any of them. Once you verify with Nero Toolkit, then you can continue with the next step.
(C) click on "DRIVER", "UNINSTALL", "OK" and then "shutdown" or "restart" your computer. That's it... easy as smoking!!!

NOTE: To verify your dvd burner/dvd-rom drivers with Nero:
Open up "StartSmart", click on "Nero Toolkit", then click on "Nero InfoTool" (InfoTool will run and retrieve all drivers), now click on "Configuration" - this should show you where your DVD Burner/DVD-ROM is installed under either "Primary or Secondary" <--- make good note of that and you're ready to "uninstall" your dvd burner/dvd-rom drivers now.

Your Samsung dvd burner's firmware is old, it needs to update to the current firmware. The current firmware is "US06" - updating firmware is helpful to your burner, it'll help to recognize other media and codes, plus it'll be more compatible with other new media. Go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2011 and download it to run and update it. NOTE: be sure you don't have any CD or DVD inside your burner when you run the firmware to update your burner.

Your burner doesn't like the media, and or it doesn't recognize the media code. Again, a firmware needed to be updated.

Try to burn at 4X next time, but no higher than that. I know the TDK DVD-R is good, but may be your burner doesn't like it. Perhaps, you need to try other high quality such as Taiyo Yuden (also the 8X DVD+R Fuji "Made In Japan"), Verbatim (MCC003 & MCC004 only), Maxell 8X DVD+R "Made In Japan", and the Ritek and see if you'll get a successfully burned.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

When trying to open the downloaded firmware update (US06), how do I install it because it wants a program to "open with"?
