Hello everybody,

I have the above mentioned dvd drive in my computer, and it always used to work fine. A few weeks ago I appeared to have a power glitch or something to where the computer would not turn on any more, and I brought it to get it fixed. My computer works fine now, but ever since I noticed that some of my discs will work and other that used to work before won't work any longer. I use some Staples brand cd-r discs which all won't work, then I have hp invent dvd+r discs of which one still is working and all the others won't work. And I have Memorex cd-rw discs that still all work fine. The files on these discs are all similar type. Somebody told me to uninstall the secondary IDE channel in device manager, reboot the computer and it automatically reinstalled it. Then I uninstalled my dvd drive through device manager and reinstalled it.
All those discs are still not working. I find it odd that a few of them will work and others won't. Especially since one of my hp dvd rw discs is working just fine, and all the others won't.
Does that sound like my drive is probably broke and I have to get a new one? Or is there anything else I can do to try to get it back working?
