swap magic slide tool problem

I just bought a swap magic (U.S) 3.6 the other day and i have a problem.
the swap magic cd loader works fine but the dvd swap won't boot its giving me a disc read error.
i tried the stick topic about the swamp mgic but that doesn't seem to work. I used my lens cleaner that doen't work.
any suggestions or I should just send it back.

When you have swapped the SwapMagic disk for the the backup, which button on the controller are you pressing. You should be going for Special Boot (square button for V3.3).

I have a FlipTop now, but I used to have a SlideTool and although it was crap, it did work. It could be the the drive isn't properly closed when put your backup in. Once the drive is closed with your backup in you have jam the SlideTool in the drive area again and like move something to the right I think. Something inside clunks down, you'll know if you've done it right.

If the swap magic dvd doesn't even load, id send it back for a replacement (you will use the swap magic dvd a million times more than the swap magic cd).
