Has anyone been able to play games they downloaded online? I've tried Warcraft 3 and Battlefield but no luck as it says "cannot connect" - I presume its cos the cd key is not valid although has anyone else had any luck?

Very few new warez games allow online play. Usually as you said due to the cd key not being valid. Older games, like UT for example allowed it, because it didnt check the cd key apart from installation.
The simplest way to play games online is to buy them tbh.

Ok cheers. Im sure if everyone bought games (+music etc) then Kazaa and other file sharing apps wouldnt be half as used as they are! Looks like the software companies can control online gaming although Im sure its more than just the cd key preventing usage (sometimes you get serial number generators but why dont these work online?).
Nevermind - will have to buy the game (kinda defeats what most people use Kazaa for ay ;-)!).

Most games you fin on kazaa are very very badly ripped. The best rip to look for are the cd images! An exact clone of a cd should allow you to play online games!

Even if you have a perfectly copied and download game, sometimes it still will not play online because(like with starcraft I believe) the company allows you to install and play the game on your computer, but once online it runs a very good registration check, comparing the cdkey provided with their database which has all cdkeys used and all cdkeys they have found from warez sites. This system works very well, just be glad that they do not do this with installation.

This is an amazingly imformative site with many places to find information and help. Please support it.

Well a lot of games have the same serial numbers so that wouldn't really do them any good. My point was that some games from kazaa have been ripped to be small so its most likely that some guy who ripped it decided to remove all the online play features to make it smaller!! Kinda like the unreal tournament 2003 kazaa download!
