I have had dvd x copy platinum for a while and i can't get it to work any longer. It comments that there is a CSS encryption what do i do to get the program to work. These are dvd's that i own.

dvdxcopy platinum dosent copy newer movies , the company behind it have gone out of business .

i would d/l dvd decrptor and DVD Shrink to copy films as its a lot easier and its free

Actually dvd x copy platinum DOES copy newer movies. Just did Sin City, National Treasure, Batman Begins, and Smallville Season 4.

Just got to have the right CSS inhibitor running in the background.

hey i am having the same prob could you please tell me what u mean by 'CSS Inhibitor' if this gets rid of the prob could you please tell me where to get this from and what to do with it????

He means a program that breaks the encryption like AnyDVD or DVD43. Which are both drivers and run in the background and lets the program see the disk as unencrypted. Since Xcopy will not do some of the newer protected disks, these programs will let it copy. AnyDVD is a pay program and has a 21 day free trial available from http://www.slysoft.com. DVD43 is free and available at http://www.filepedia.com.

Sin City - Miramax
National Treasure - Disney/Buena Vista
Batman Begins - Warner Bros.
Smallville - Warner Bros.

None of these dvds are Sony, DvdXCopy does not need anything special to rip.

DvdXCopy can NOT rip newer "SONY" dvds, without the help from AnyDVD, DVD43, etc.

drewrob4 i had that problem when i had dvd x copy ,i uninstalled the program and reinstalled it to get it to work again.

you might consider getting different software to backup your dvds since x copy has been OFF the market for quite some time now and will never be updated. threre are lots of BETTER programs than x copy could dream of being

dvd shrink and or dvd decrypter ( freeware)

better stuff

CloneDVD 2 with anydvd (which i use) very good program heres some links and guide and BTW CloneDVD 2 and anydvd have a 21 day free trial which you should try

remember to use good blank media as in Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim and burn at 4X for perfect backups everytime
