Alright. Early morning yesterday, my brother was playing a game and he goes to kick me because i'm snoring (we share a room) and he pulls my PS2 off of the stand and it takes a fall of about 4 feet. after that, it refuses to read certain disks, especially ones with any scratch at all- no matter how small. i've taken it apart and looked at everything, and it works just fine- what could be wrong with it? all of the cords are plugged in, nothing is cracked or broken, etc.

Does the disc spin when you try it? It may be your laser. Try cleaning it, and maybe adjusting it if need be. There are some guides around on how to fix these things.

yeah, the laser is clean and it does spin... but guides aren't as good as a person.
