Hi all...

Hopefully someone can help me! I have an analog video camera, I would like to capture the video to my PC. What is necessary to connect my camera to the PC? I have a new PC, P4 3.4GHz. Also, do I need to buy a capturing program for this, or can I use Windows Movie maker? Thank you all for your help!!

You will Need a Capture device of Some sort to transfer the Video to your PC...Generally a Internal PCI Capture device would be best over a USB device but if you have to get a USB device them make sure it uses hardware Compression because without it you will have Quality problems and Frame Drops because the USB 2.0 specification doesn"t have enough bandwidth to efficiently transfer Uncompressed Video to your PC VIA USB so hardware compression will Produce better quality and be easier to use and be less of a problem.....

Your Capture device should come with Video Capture software and you don"t want to use "Windows Movie Maker" because it is Mostly for working with the WMV Format which is not the Right format for DVD....

I would suggest something like the "Hauppaggue WinTV PVR 150/250" for an Internal PCI Card or something like the "Hauppague WinTV PVR USB2" if you need a USB device......
