Choppy Image from backed-up DVD.

I backed up Chris Rock: Bigger and Blacker on DVD yesterday using DVD X COPY and Sony DRU-500AX. However, the playback was extremely choppy. I think the problem may be the DVD-R discs I'm using since these are no-brands. My Riteks are on its way. However, I've backed up other movies and those seemed fine. Is my problem caused by the "low-quality" discs or is it something else?
