I have been using DVD Decrypter (3.5.4.0) with DVD Shrink (3.2) for more than a year and suddenly I can no longer get read rates over2.0 and write rates greater than 1.8. I was getting read rates up to 8.0 with write rates as fast as 7.4 depending on the blank medium. I have changed absolutely nothing. Any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks for the help to all. It was a DMA problem. Windows XP will de3fault to PIO only mode for all drives after 60 read errors. The solution is to uninstall the drives and the IDE controllers in Device manager and then reboot. Got this from technet.com.
