I am using hdl_dumb to transfer game iso's to my ps2 hdd and the rate is very slow (current speed - .7) (average speed - 1.1) and I have high speed internet. Is there anything I can do to speed this process up?

from what I gather, transfering from pc to ps2 is slow (not sure how slow). you'd be better off putting the hdd in the pc and transfer using winhiip 'cause it's faster that way.

After spending some time doing research... the best solution i can come up with is a IDE to USB 2.0 Connector. I bought one the other day from Acortech.com with free shipping for 15 bucks. it has an IDE end on one side and USB on the other. It also come with a power adapter (4-pin molex) all u have to do is take your ethernet adapter off the PS2 and hook up the ide and power cables. then plug in the usb and run the software. this will treat the drive just like the ones in your comp but without the work of opening the case. then simply use HDL dump or something to copy the files at a much faster rate, and you're all set... let me know if this helps...

I have looked into getting a ide to usb connector but I just dont like taking the hdd out of my ps2 everytime I want to put a new game on there. It is WAY faster doing it that way but like I said I dont like taking it out all the time. They need a network adapter that can stay connected to pc all the time through usb.

ive been using that method for a few weeks now and its not bad. all u have to do is pull the ethernet adapter off...u can leave the drive in the ps2. its the only faster solution. its the ps2 that slows down the network transfer because the system wasn't designed to transfer large files at a fast speed...so there wont be any faster method to do it...
