Have old PS2 v7 (big version) (mod-chip= magic 3.1 hard wired) Ok so the problem is just recently my old games that I backed up dont work they come to the playstation screen then start to load, game screen trys to load then the screen goes black and nothing. It happens with The original discs occasionally also. I thought well maybe the forums are right and Princo media sucks but the catch is it only happens to some of my old games. Now I know that most, if not all are against Princo media but i havent had any problems until now. So do you think it is the media going bad? laser going bad? or combo of the two? or something else. I am recopying one of the old games that dont work to see if the media is bad and I will repost with the results. Again PLEASE HELP/Advice and only helpful advice not princo sucks should have bought better media. I know it is cheap but I dont have much money and that post wouldnt help anyways.

Get rid of Princo. Get Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Ritek, Maxell, TDK, Phillips, or Sony DVD-R's. If that doesn't work then worry about the laser. Burn at 1x, 2x, then 4x until it works.
