Sorry, i dont mean to be a pain or anything but I bought some DVD-R disks without realizing it and I was wondering, because I've been having a problem burning my movie files with nero anyways it just says that "no disk inserted or drive not ready", so i was wondering if it were a problem with the DVD being a "-R" DVD and not a "+R" DVD
Thanks, I feel horrible for having to ask such a question that will probably turn out to be such a simplistic problem but I havent found anything else on this forum thats really helped me.

hi,
could be a problem with the particular DVD-R you purchased, may i ask what is the BRAND of said media and the rated speed? this might help to get to the bottom of your issues and find a resolution~

First of all, if you don't have the latest from Nero, then update your Nero to the current 6.6.0.16 (this is Nero 6 Ultra).
Secondly, you need to update your dvd burner's firmware to the latest, so it can read/recognize other new media and codes. Go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php and look for your burner and get the latest firmware for an update.
And third, does your Fuji media said; "Made In Japan" on the spindle or package? Do as told by Doc aka Kivory666, and or go here http://www.dvdinfopro.com/ to download and get your media and manufacture id code, then post it back on here.

it's worth checking the obvious stuff first if you like ...... let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar. You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

it works without a hitch when i use DVDShrink, but the DVDShrink asks for a DVD+R and i was wondering if that was because of the programming or my DVD drive? I think it may be a problem with the drive and not the programmes anymore o.0

good suggestions however there's a couple other fundamental problems there in the log -
Quote: CdRomPeripheral : SAMSUNG CD-ROM SC-148C atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: Off
- DMA needs to be ON, fix vis this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm
Quote: DVD-Video files reallocation started
Video title set containing 'VTS_03_0.IFO' is not required
DVD-Video files reallocation failed
- you're doing something wrong in DVD Shrink.
