ok this is my dilema...ive been burning ps2 games for a month now with no fallbacks, perfect discs. and now all of a sudden the last 4 games ive tried burning mess up about 3/4 the way through. The programs say write error or there was a problem with the recorder. Ive tried using dvd decryptor, what i usually use, alcohol 120% and nero...all with zero success. Movies still burn perfectly with shrink. Just copied apt pupil this morning. and i am watching it at this very moment flawlesly. So im kinda ruling out the possibility of my burning crappin out. Does anyone have an answer for me.

I tried to backup ENTER THE MATRIX with 2 unsuccessfull tries
Kindom Hearts (downloaded iso) 2 bad tries, stops at 3/4 through
Total overdose (downloaded iso) 2 bad tries
God of war (downloaded iso) 2 bad tries

IM RUNNING OUT OF DVDS!!!! SOMEONE HELP ME!

The only i i really know about is Total Overdose
That game has to be rebuilt to work with Swap Magic.
Does it load to a loading screen of a guy standing with
a chicken then stop? if so rebuild it and it will work.
Have you tried to see if there are any new firmware updates
available for your burner? That sometimes does the trick.
I had no problem with God Of War, as long as it is the
DVD5 version(made by confusion).
Have you switched DVD brands? What brand do you use?
What speed are they? DVD+R or DVD-R?

Sounds to me like the "Blue Screen of Death". Many times related to viruses and spyware/adware. I've had viruses before but the last one took a month to resolve. You've gotta be careful with some of the downloads, you never really know whats attached to it.

If you're still having problems try this forum, they've been great for me.
http://www.tech-forums.net - Check out the section named Viruses.

Try running an online Scan of your system. Here's a good one:

Trust Norton Anti-virus and others don't find everything

Good luck!

Yeah Panda Scan is okay for freeware. I use Pc-Cillin AV. I download all the time, and you'd be amazed at the length's people will go to pass on a virus. Mostly you'd wanna stay away from porn, smaller exe and vbs files, and pirated software. That and email scanning is useful if you get a large quantity of spam. BSOD can be virus related, hardware failure, or software conflicts. Have you recently installed any new software or hardware. Any way you can boot into safe mode (hit F8 at boot up)? The only time I got it is when I had two firewalls installed and active at the same time. If you can't get to your desktop at all, try writing down the error codes windows gives you and google them on another PC. If all else fails, hope it's still under warranty. Admittedly unless your an IT guy, and you get the BSOD, then there isn't a whole lot you can do if Windows doesn't self correct.
