I am very new to all this. I have downloaded several avi files. I cant seem to get any to play. I have also downloaded tmpgenc and tried to convert these files to mpeg with no luck at all. I am thinking about taking a hammer to my computer!! Any help would be appreciated.

Have you got the necessary codec's installed to play the files back, at the very least you are going to need this one installed
