Hi, while dvdShrink will do it all I personally am having better success by using DVDdecrypter first and then DVDShrink. Give that a try and see if it goes better. DVDDecrypter is free and can be obtained at this site.

If you still have problems post back.

Have you uninstalled it and reinstalled it? Do you have the latest version of DVDshrink? The latest version is here at this site.

Is shrink stalling or is your computer locking up?

Have you installed a new software, or hardware. Are your burner drivers up to date??

Just guessing...

Are you saying that when you press 'backup', the backup menu does not come up on the screen and shrink freezes, or is it when you click 'ok' from the backup menu that it freezes?

Since Shrink takes all the CPU power it can get, are you shutting down all RAM hogging processes (from Task Manager) that you don't need, like virus, firewall, etc.

Do you have the latest Direct X installed? Also, do a "Windows Update"!

I would advise doing a Windows Update first. Usually, one of the updates is the Direct X.

To find out what version of DirectX you are using now, do the following:

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Type dxdiag, and then click OK.
3. On the System tab, note the version of DirectX displayed on the DirectX Version line.
4. On the DirectX Files tab, check the version information for each DirectX file.
5. When you are finished checking file versions, click Exit.
If Windows cannot find the dxdiag program, DirectX version 5.0 or earlier is installed on your computer. If this is the case, download and install the current version of DirectX.

To download the latest version fo DirectX, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/downloads/default.asp (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/downloads/default.asp))

What setting do you have for "DirectX Video Render"?

To get there in DVD Shrink, click "Edit", then "Preferences", then click the "Preview" tab.
