Hi, I've been ripping my dvd to divx format. however, the quality ad video size, never equals the divx videos already in my collection?

I have changed codec settings with limited success?

does anybody have any suggestions?

cheers.

I have found that auto GK has somewhat better quality than DivX converter.
and you have more control over size in case your converting single episodes and dont need a 1 GB .VOB to be 700 mb

AutoGK will give you a DivX AVI though. If you want DivX format then you need to remux using fuse or similar, adding chapters, subs, etc.

How did you rip the other DivX files in your collection? Or you didn't rip them yourself? If so, they are actually .DivX files? If they are avi'ss then chances are that they are compressed with XviD and not DivX.

I tried multiple progs. such as magic dvd ripper(yasasoft), IMToo ripper and intervideo.
I have now switched to autogk and I am impressed.
thanks for the info.

Purely upto you. I'd suggest sticking with XviD though.
