NeroVision Express 3 Sync Problems

I'm running NeroVision Express 3 on Windows XP Service Pack 2 and I downloaded the SMC Patch for NVE3 and my audio is still out of sync with my video. I'm capturing from a Sony Handycam (MiniDV) and I'm trying to ultimately burn to DVD but no matter what I try my audio stays out of sync. Does anyone have any idea how I can remedy this problem? It's driving me crazy.

I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

If you have an AVI, and if the lag is uniform throughout, you may try use e.g. AviFixed to remedy the situation. But do back up the original video first:
