burning issues with Mercenaries

I burnt Mercenaries with Verbitum DVD-R using Alcohol 120%.my PC said it was succesfully completed but it gets stuck at a loading screen. I already tried changing the ps2's drive speed didnt help. Has anyone burned a working copy of this game if so please tell me how you did it what program what kind of media used etc. Please help.Thanks in advance to all that reply

I used Alcohol 120% and Verbatim Datalife Plus DVD+R. Works great.
You might've just copped a bad burn, it can happen.
Personally I would delete the old image, create it again, and try burning once more.
Wait for more replies though, I'm using the PAL version so if yours is the NTSC then check with other people using the same version.

If you're using swap magic, mercenaries needs to be rebuilt for it to work. see the thread at the top of the board about patching/rebuilding games.

DVD Decrypter iso read, iso write. I am using a modchip (no idea what make or version)and it boots up just fine. Havn't even played the original disk, still in its cover. Used a printable DVD-R disk (CMG dye i think) made by datawrite if i recall.

yes, with a modchip it would be a strait up burn
with Swap Magic it needs to be rebuilt
I will make it easy for you.

there is the Mercenaries patch and here is what to do
If you alread have the ISO put it in aa folder all by itself
Now download and unzip the patch
move the unzipped patch to the folder with the ISO
Rename your ISO file ptc.merc
now run the patch, it should take about 20 minutes
if it is over in a few seconds you did something wrong
Check the file size of the new ISO it makes for you and if it
not really small like 5KB then it worked
now burn the new ISO it created for you
this is basically rebuild an ISO but the patch does it for
you.

paddymail, i can't find were you say about the thread patching/rebuilding games , can you gimme a hand , thanks , im already have the game in my computer , what is next?
steamy i do what you says but every time tell me error, when i run take about seconds and new window black appear say error drk-merc.sfv 1/1 drk-mrc.iso error, what i do wrong?

i am not sure what you may have done wrong, but i know
it works if you do it right.
You did rename the original ISO ptc.merc right?
Not ptc.mer.iso, just ptc.mer
you need to rename the original file for it to work right.
it sounds like it did not find a file called merc.sfv
or something, do you show that as one of your files?

What do you mean you can't find it.. it's about 6 threads from the top!!
It's worth checking out how to rebuild though in case games you will want to backup in the future might need to be rebuilt and there won't always be a patch for you to use... but in this case use steimy's patch if you can.

nothing ! i tell what i do , steamy and paddymail, sorry if i make you mad ,
1. i use decrypter
2. i copy the iso file in new carpet .
3. i open the WinZIP and i hit extract from the new carpet
4. i name the file ptc.merc
5. hit the drk-mrc
2. new icon appear 1 say drk-mrc ms infodocument the other say drk-mrc iso image 528 kb ...
that what i do , sorry , im new on this things ..

Hi, Thanks for the patch info., but looks like I'm a little confused too, like the guy above me. I have the mercenaries ISO, and the DRK MRC ISO, in a folder named ptc.merc How do I move that into the Mercenarie ISO?
But I may have done it wrong as well, now that I think about it, when I extracted the files, opened it, then I clicked on APPLY, it didn't take much longer than about 5 seconds, and you mentioned it should take about 20 mins. so I'm definetly doing that wrong as well.
I'll keep messing with it , but hope to hear back.

Sorry, but all you have to do is follow the information for rebuilding exactly as it is written..... it's actually very simple once you get used to it.
and I never use patches, so can't help you there.
