Me and my friend are trying to play a backup of Berserk the Jap. game, and all we have are DVD-R's. So we burned it, and I need an explination of how to get it to run. I've been doing nothing but reading and this is what I understand.

Put in original PS2 game to load it, somehow get the drive out and drive in with the Jap game in there and it will play?

We might have access to an HDD but we don't yet, but can you please help us out? Am I doing something wrong? I don't want to break his PS2.

Well for one thing v.1-3 PS2's have a great deal of trouble reading backups. Other than that you would need a mod to play it, like Swap Magic or a Modchip. Probably not worthwhile on a v.1 though. The laser just isn't gonna read backups.
