Cannot burn a single DVD "session fixation error"

I have burned over 50 DVDs over the past year and all of a sudden I cannot burn a single thing onto a DVD. I have tried different files and programs to do it and nothing is working. I keep getting a "session fixation error" when I use Nero, however I don't know how to view the log file in Nero so I copied the log file from Alcohol 120% so you experts can see it.


I've updated my drivers for the drive, I updated the firmware, I also updated Nero.

Ok, it seems you have basically done everything I would have done (especially the firmware update is smart to do in these cases).

Are you burning DATA or a movie? For instance: is this a game?

What brand is that TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B drive? That doesn't sound familliar to me?

Also: did you change the brand of DVD's from the previous ones you burned?

- Does it still read DVD's (both data and video) without problems?

I would try the following:

A) Try to burn some other ISO file: if only this one won't burn it's the iso!
b) check another brand of DVD's and see if it does burn; if so it might be the ones you have now are incompatible with your drive (although you did update the firmware)
c) Try other burning software! Or anything else that can burn a DVD.iso.


There basically these posibilities as I see it:

1) your DVD burner is defective (although if you can play/read it is unlikely that you can't burn)
2) software problem/driver conflict with other software (ie Nero and Alchohol)
3) Medium problem with the DVD's you use
4) Problem with the ISO itself

ps: this is actually not a RIPPING problem, but burning problem and as such it probably does not belong in this forum ;-)

I have used the same blank DVD's for every other thing I have ever burned, thats why I use these ones. They are TDK discs. I have burned close to 50 things with the same discs including disc that I bought in this bundle.

I don't have any other ISO's on my HD right now, but I tried to burn some AVI files and some mp3's just to see and I got the same error message.

I think the drive is a Samsung.

Gday mate. I have the exact same burner, and I am using TDK disks. I have the exact same problem with the session fixation errors, cant burn a single disk. Point is I read an article from a reputable pc magazine, that stated that TDK had outsourced the manufacturing of their disks to a shitty factory and the resulting media quality is absolute crap. It sounds as if our burner type is especially finding it hard to burn to this media. I myself am still looking for answers but unfortunately its looking more and more that TDK's once high quality has now fallen down.

As an update, I got it to work.

I found a great deal on Memorex DVD+R and bought them. They burned without the error. Seems to be the fix.

I just think it's kinda weird that the first 10 discs I used in the spindle worked great, then all of a sudden the last 15 would not burn.
