backing up ps2 dual layer dvds. help please.

hi,
i had a look around most of the guides and i dint see anything about how to back up the dual layer ps2 dvd games such as god of war. im not very good with all the technical words so i may have missed it. or its exactly the same method as backing up non dual layer games. so how exactly is it that u do it?

thanks for that. just one more thing, do i need to burn it to a blank dula layered dvd or a blank DVD-R?

p.s. does DVD9 mean dual layered?

Well you can do either. DVD-9 does mean dual layer. DVD-5 refers to single layer DVD's. You can burn it to a dual layer DVD, if your burners is dual layer. Most people flatten it to single layer DVD because they're a lot cheaper than Dual Layer discs. Usually this involves cutting out some movies and excess files. I recommend you flatten to a single layer DVD, because dual layer DVD's are expensive.

damn thats kinda sucks having to cut out parts of the game. thanks for all the help

Yeah you can use DL discs, they're just more expensive. If you get a coaster when you paid $20 for a 5 pack, you're gonna be pissed. Let me clarify. HD advance 3.0 supports DL games, and so do a handful of good modchips like the DMS 4 and Matrix Infinity. However Swap Magic 3.6 does not support Dual Layer games. In order to load DVD-9 games with Swap Magic, they need to be compressed to a single layer DVD.
