...anyone had any luck backing up this movie?....I get a bad VOB warning and the ripped video file crashes dvd2onex when I try to extract and compress.

It's an older movie. A remake of mutiny on the bounty with Mel Gibson. I get a "bad VOB 4" warning in mtr... when I try to compress with DVD2OneX, it crashes.

what versions are you running of mtr and DVD2OneX ? it might just be the disc itself..

Using mtr 2.6.6....very recent DVD2OneX.....the failure screen says "vob 4 test failed"...in the video ts folder, there is no VOB 4....I have attempted this back up with 2 different dvd's of "the bounty" with the same result.

have you tried other back up progs?

there is osex and dvd back up

i have them.. but i'm not sure on everything about them... i just know that sometimes ppl use it if mtr doesnt work right

The same thinbg happenned with 2 different discs....VOB 4 failure....given this, I would tend to rule out a damaged disc

mtr did not detect arccos....I have been told by someone who ran into the same problem with mtr 2.6.6 that mtr 3.0 has successfully ripped "the bounty". I now have 3.0, but I do not have the dvd in my posession at this time...
