Okay guys I have a question that I cannot find an answer for and I need some help.

Okay the problem is with my little brothers PS2, it was bought 'brand new' (the reason I say it like that is that last night i went to open it up, the warranty sticker wasnt even there, lol, all that was there was the VOID print the sticker leaves behind. So obviously we got screwed on that) 2 years ago around christmas and for a while he has been having trouble playing PS2 games or DVDs, due to Disc Read Errors. Well I've read a post on here for people that dont have a flip-top you can open it up and find a little white dial that adjust the laser well i sat there and adjusted that thing for atleast an hour trying ever little spot, no success, so i put it back in it's original position and popped in some of my games figuring it was something wrong with his discs, nope still wont read, so finally i grabbed a PS1 disc, put it in there and it worked, played fine and everything, so i thought PS1 discs are CDs most PS2 are DVDs so I found 1 CD PS2 disc I do have and put it in there and it worked. Now after all of that I came to my conclusion of his PS2 problem - IT CAN'T READ DVDs FOR SOME ODD REASON. I have no idea what to do in order to fix this. Oh also, I have Swap Magic, so I tried putting in the DVD SM disc to see if I could load up a DVD game with it, well it doesn't even read the SM disc so what I have found out is that my little brother has a fancy looking PS1!! LoL

Well If anyone's has any suggestions or knows what ic an do to fix this please help me out.

Thanks

Hi
The odd reason it cant read dvd's is the laser is on its last legs. What version of ps2 is it check out the sticker on the back and post the number i think it begins SCH but i may be wrong on this, yoour best option may be to buy a new laser of ebay.

LoL that's just stupid because my PS2 is like 2 years older than his and i have never had any problems with it, so there is no way this PS2 is worn out.

Its not just stupid at all later versions of the ps2 have a laser problem, version 9's and 10's. If you had read my last post properly and posted the model number i could tell you what version you have
