I had DVD shrink, DVD decrypter and Nero on my computer and was burning DVDs fine, then around a year later, I started to get an error message. I can open the dvd onto my computer fine but when I go to back it up onto my computer, a message comes up reading R.C.E that the dvd is coded and the dvd will burn fine but will only play on my computer and not any other player. I uninstalled dvd shrink and dvd decrypter and downloaded the most current versions onto my computer and the same message shows up for all dvds, even ones that I was able to burn before. can anyone offer solution?

thanks

I don't really understand what the prob is. Shrink should take care of the RCE thing. Can you show me your Nero Log? I don't really read Nero fluently so my responses may be incomplete but maybe someone else will be able to help you.

What is the exact error message you are getting, word for word?

If possible, could you get a screen shot of the error message?

@nrgizer43

What kind of burner are you burning with and what is the firmware version. When using DVDdecrypter, decrypter will tell you the model and firmware version. You need to make sure that the firmware is up to date.

Another consideration is the media that you are using. What type and brand is it?

You also may want to change the booktype of your DVD+R media to dvd-rom, if your burner will support bitsetting, as it will play in more standalone players.

You can check this as well in decrypter by clicking on tools>dvd drive>change book type. Check and see if your burner is supported.

I know how to capture the screen image, but it wont let me paste it on this message. I also am not sure what information from Nero you are looking for. Its sad that I am this computer illiterate!

You have to upload it and host it somewhere (like imageshack) before you will be able to post it here in this thread. - http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?postid=216849#post...

I have an NEC DVD+RW ND-6100A and the file version is 5.1.2600.2180(xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)

I use DVD-R+ media type to burn the dvd onto.

Hope that helps at all.

We need to know the exact message that you are getting, word for word. What movie is it?

If this is an encryption error that you are getting (I'm not sure what the error is) you might want to try ripping with DVDFab (free)

or get the 21 day trial of AnyDVD at http://www.slysoft.com
