I am using VSO DivXToDVD software. When encoding, I am getting anywhere from (0.55x)-(1.04x), and I am using a P4 1.8ghz w/ 1 gig DDR RAM. I am going to upgrade my computer, so I wanted to see what kinda speeds you guys/gals are getting compared to mine, and what kinda hardware you got giving you those speeds? Thanks for any input, and any links you have to help me on my way!
I have noted that your encoding speed is drastically reduced. When i had an AMD2600+(SAME AMOUNT OF RAM= 1024) it would take about an hour to do most 700meg conversions. It now does the same conversions in about 29 to 39 mins.(yes i retried the same files)
Burning however is quite different initially the 1st dvd would take about 25 minutes and every copy after wards would be about 15mins.This was what i though pretty good times but with the upgrade the dvd takes about 15-20 mins and every other copy takes a flat 9 mins.
My board supports higher functions like hyper threading and a staggering 4 gig of ram. When i get around to it i'll probably upgrade the ram to see if it makes a difference. Its not really neccessary but something to play around with.
Yea i also have DivXtoDVD 1.99
I seem to convert files very fast when there is not much memory being used, i've converted a 700MB movie before at 70, 80, sometimes 90FPS constant! But when im doing things while converting, id convert at about 40FPS and 2 700MB movies will get done in about an hour.
Im running an AMD 3400+ Processor, 2.8MHz and 1GB of RAM
I am just a happy customer and a ßeta Tester for VSO.
I do not work for them nor receive any money from them.
The reward I get is good software, fixes for the little bugs I find, and implementation of my ideas/comments if they are good. (Most idea were added because they were judged good idea) !
Several little ideas/features in VSO DivXtoDVD v1.99 has come from my own feedback, that's cool !
There's a lot of good software out there, you need to find software that will provide YOU the wanted end results, and it all comes down to a personal choice.
