You may have backed up an unsupported media type for your set top. What brand and type of media did you use (+R or -R)? You can find out with DVD Identifier, which you can download from this site.

Does your stand alone support both types of media?

Will the disc play in your PC? Are you using adhesive labels? What speed did you burn at?

Can you post the Nero log?

We didn't need that last part about piracy.

im using -R this wasnt the first time ive backed up a dvd before, all of my back ups work cept for the oc =(

im not sure if my players can play both -r +r, but all my burns have been from the same media and it all has worked so far, i have been burning all my backups with max option, i couldnt play the dvd using windows media player 10, it says i dont have the right decoder or sumthing.

EDIT: unfortunately i didnt save the nero log file

Check to see that your firmware is up to date. Have you tried to burn the image created with shrink with DVD Decrypter instead of Nero?

DVD Decrypter is only a ripper and burner, you cannot manipulate files already found on your HD (not that I know of anyway).
Quote:
it says incorrect disk
Put the disc offending disc into your drive and open DVD Decrypter. Go to Mode/ISO/Read. In the right side you should see a window that says something like this:

_NEC DVD_RW ND-3540A 1.03 (ATA)
Current Profile: DVD+R

Disc Information:
Status: Complete
Erasable: No
Sessions: 1
Sectors: 2,201,920
Size: 4,509,532,160 bytes
Time: 489:20:70 (MM:SS:FF)

Quote:
Disc Information:
Status: Complete
This means that the image is on the disc.

If you see something that looks like this:
Quote:
Disc Information:
Status: Empty
then there is nothing on the disc.
