I am having an error that reads DVD Shrink Encountered an error and cannot continue. Programming error exception occurred. The handle is invalid. This happens when I start the ripping process. I use DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. The movie is "The Wedding Date". Can someone tell me how to do another process, please.

Have you tried ripping to HD using DVD Decrypter first? Shrink cannot handle some of the new encryptions. If DVD Decrypter cannot do it either then try DVDFab Decrypter or DVD43.

What exactly is the problem?
Will DVD Decrypter not copy the disc to your HD? Do you get an error message? If so, what does it say...word for word. A post of the log would be even better.
If you have successfully ripped the title to your HD then open DVD Shink. Click on the big button that says OPEN FILES and look for the Video_ts folder of the movie that you ripped with DVD Decrypter (Do you remember where you saved it?). Once the quick analysis is complete you have some choices to make.
1. Do you want the whole movie with all the menus and special features?...if so untick all of the subtitles, untick all of the audio streams (except for the AC3 5.1). Under compression you want to create a custom ratio for everything except the main movie i.e. the menus, special features, and unreferenced material. To do this highlight Menus on the left side, then on the right side pull down the automatic compression tab, and select custom ratio. This will release the slider bar which you want to move all the way to the left. Repeat this step for everything except the Main Movie. Click the big button at the top of the screen that says Backup, then under select backup target you want it to say ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter. Make sure that you have a blank in your burner and click OK. In about an hour you will have a fully functional backup of your original.
Or...
2. Do you want the main movie only (or in this case just the individual episodes)? If so then in the top click the button that says Reauthor. In the right window you should see all the episodes, drap and drop each one to the left side and click backup. And continue as prescribed above...ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter. Note: this method will remove everything except the individual episodes, so you will have no menus or special features etc., just the episodes.
Did you read bbmayo's guide(s)? They are excellent resources, and easy to follow.

That is not a thread.
This is the thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/247752
@mlove
And I'm sorry I didn't keep up with that one, I thought Arnie had it under control.
Quote: You use DVD Decrypter to rip all your disks
This statement might be misleading to you, if you have a DVD-9 that DVD Shrink can handle the encryption, use it. That will save you a step and a few minutes. If DVD Shrink cannot get around the encryption, you may need the use DVD Decrypter or a similar prog such as DVDFab decrypter or DVD43. I always start with DVD Decrypter only to see the size of the file I'm working with (in File mode), and if it is possible to perform a ISO/read/ISO/write.
But to each his own. You can use DVD Decrypter to rip all of your discs, but you don't have to. Use the method that works best for you.
