I have a fairly large music video collection that I am starting to put on to DVD-R. I have been using a Panasonic DMR-HS2 to do the actual recording. I am going to need to make copies of these discs. I have an internal DVD burner (Cendyne DVR-105) that I am planning on using to accomplish this. Can anyone make a suggestion as to what I can use for media? It would have to be something that will play in standalone DVD players after the copy is done. The DVR-105 also has a 4x write speed and I would like to use this to it's fullest capabilities. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I use fujifilm dvd-r's and when I back up movies they play fine in my ps2 I don't know if the ps2's dvd player is any different from just a plane ol dvd player though. If I were you I wouldn't use the fullest of my drive's burning speed capabilities. because it's much safer to burn at 1x than it is at 4x. The faster you burn it the higher the chance that you have a buffer under run and the whole dvd-r get screwed up. better safe than sorry I say. especially when you're dealing with stuff that's expensive like dvd-rs

I think playback is atg the stage cd playback wa several years ago..some work some od not...newer players will start ebing more compatable...You can get bad emdia from the same brand you had luck with bevore...it may eb hit or miss. I see bad news about name brands like Memorex..I have good luck with cheap(<1.00) ACCU. BEALLS have good reports a little over $1.00

I hear that alot of the cheaper media will read but because of low reflectability it can cause the laser on dvd players to wear out.

high quality = better results. I use optodisc and ritek media...great bang for your buck, but if you can afford it, use premium media like verbatim, sony, pioneer, sony, etc....although u can burn at 4x...DONT!! burn 1x..I know its a pain, but you'll less coasters and poss better results. www.shop4tech.com is a good place 2 buy. Decent prices
