I just started getting the above message when using Clone DVD when I click go. I put in new dvd's, different brands and I still get the same message. I haven't done anything to the dvd drive on the computer. I can play movies on the dvd drive.
I'm pretty new at this. Can anyone help me?

Make sure that I understand what you are doing. Are you putting a DVD in the drive or blank media in the drive?
Have you updated the firmware for your DVD RW drive? You may need to for it to recognize the media that you are using. Check the 3rd link in my signature and see if your drives firmware needs to be updated.
What does the CloneDVD Log say? Copy and paste it for forum review and we'll see if we can help.

I'm putting a blank DVD in the drive. When I get to the last screen (on clone dvd) and click on write, I get a box that says: Please insert a recordable media into drive D, cancel/eject. Then under the writing with the bar that says the % done, its says waiting, driver not ready.
The firmware is ok.
here is the clone dvd log:

"I 17:24:41 Writer: ATAPI CD-RW 52X24 (rev. K.FC)"
Looks like you only have a CD Writer not a DVD Writer...
That could be why it doesn't recognize the DVD
either that or if you have a CD writer and a DVD Writer it's not recognizing the DVD Writer from the looks of it...
Says DVD Writer in some places of the Log but it doesn't list anything after it
"I 17:24:41 Speed: maximum"
Never want to burn at Maximum speed either 2x or 4x suggested
I'm also wondering if your Drive is a DVD/CDR-W Combo drive since you can play DVD's in it

It looks to me like tmfloria might have hit the nail on the head. You may have a DVD player CD-RW combo and not a DVD-RW. I can't be positive but that is what it looks like to me.

What happens if you go into DVD Decrypter and select tools Drive and check for firmware updates? Does it list any updated firmware? If so I suggest trying to update your firmware reboot your system and see where it brings you.. for some reason it looks to us like Clone DVD is thinking it's a CD-RW drive and I don't know why.. But a firmware update may fix the issue

Windows updates have not interfered with my burning in any fashion. Have you tried following one of the guides by bbmayo regarding AnyDVD and CloneDVD. I have them listed in my sig. Take a look at the one for your copy programs and see if that helps.
Quote: Please insert a recordable media into drive D, cancel/eject.
I know the screen that you are talking about. This screen confused me for a while as well. Once this screen pops up and you have put your blank media in it, try waiting for a few seconds and see if it does not autostart. That is what mine does. I don't click either cancel or eject, I just wait and it begins the recording process and the window closes on it own.

I tried waiting and it never starts writing(I waited about 5 minutes)
I also went to the bbmayo site and checked out the guides and that didn't help either. Any other ideas?

I wonder if you need to do a uninstall of CloneDVD and a fresh install. I don't have a clue as to what is going on with why it won't burn.
Have you contacted slysoft regarding this issue? http://www.slysoft.com
The latest version is 2.8.5.1 Maybe you need to update your version.

Have you tried burning with any other programs like DVDdecrypter and DVDShrink? Does that work if so?

Yes, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and have the latest version. I just can't figure it out. It worked fine and the next day I tried to use it and I got that message. My son did burn a cd the day before it stopped working. I thought maybe that had something to do with it but it shouldn't.
I use the program DVD Shrink and then clone dvd. I have not tried dvddecrypter. I also haven't contacted slysoft but will try it.
I appreciate all your and tmfloria's help!

Check out the guide in my sig for using DVDdecrypter and DVDShrink. This is how I do most of my backups. It is just so smooth. I do run AnyDVD in the background to kill the encryptions. I have not had a situation that I could not get by with this combination. Print out the guide and follow step by step.
Good Luck and keep us posted.
