My Ps2 is the same version as yours and if i remember right its a version 7 so any adaptor should work, i have the older one with one socket on the back the newer ones have 2.

Maybe you have a bad powersupply and can't meet the demands of the network adapter.

Does the ps2 freeze up when you load up the network disc or when the ps2 is booting up period?

What exactly is frozen? Like when it boots up, does it just stay black or when the game starts to load, then it stays black? Also, you have playstation off when you connect the network adapter right..?

The whole game freezes. The game or disc starts off gets to the loading screen and freezes. Nothing happens. i waited at least an hour before resetting it. This only happens when i hook up the ps2 network adapter. the other network adapter doesnt even get recognize by the system. everything is off when i hook up all these different adapters. I have even disabled my mod chip. same results

Your problem could be that you are not getting a good connecting with your network adapter. What i would try is getting a dry toothbrush to clean the port before connecting the network adapter again.

If this doesn't work, i would try to borrow a friend's ps2 and test out your network adapter to see if your ps2 or your network adapter is the culprit.

Out of curiosity, what chip are you using?

A thought just came to mind...

Check and make sure that your case looks like everything is snug. After you chip was installed, the alignment of the components in your ps2 could have been shifted far enough where your network adapter is barely making contact with the port.

As is, on an opened ps2, the NA doesn't exactly snap into place. You can tell it is connected, but it's only mushed on the contacts by a couple of millimeters.

I would eyeball your ps2 first to see if there is a possiblity that it is not making contact. If it looks alright, continue with the toothbrush cleaning. If it is still not working, borrow a friend's ps2 to test your network adapter. If your network adapter works on your friend's ps2, you would need to open up your ps2 and re-align the components so that it will sit farther back in the case. Maybe even run the ps2 our of the case with the NA connected to rule out a faulty connection. If this still does not work, you have either a bad port or powersupply.
