Wat happens if I am transfering a game to HD over hl_dump and it stops mid transfer, and i have to cancel transfer, is the first half on the HD somewhere, or does it delete automatically?

thanks for your time.

If I understand correctly, it is not deleted, and the partitions made in the installations will still remain. This is not a problem though because the game would not be added to the TOC. The next complete install you make will write over incomplete installation. In other words, you're cool :).

Have you tried winhiip before? It's my personal favorite becasuse it lets me see what part my games are installed on the harddrive. It will also show if and where there are any game fragments.

The only issue with winhiip is that you cannot use hl_dump after an installation and vice versa. This doesn't mean that you can't still use hld_dump... All you need to do is put your hdd back into your ps2, and hdloader/advance naturally will recompile your hdd. The reason you can't use both apps at the same time is because they use different methods to install games. If you install one game with winhiip and another with hl_dump without recompiling your hdd, you'll end up with errors in your TOC. Basically, your games will still be there, but your ps2 won't be able to see them.

Have fun!

I've used winhiip before, funny thing is i origonally put games on the HD with winhiip, but then decided i wanted to try hd_dump out of interest, and succesfully put a game on, and both sets of games run fine? how can this be if u were saying that they wouldn't?

cheers

another question, is there anyway to get the iso's from the ps2 HD back onto ps2, can i use winhiip/hl_dump?

Did you use Winhiip and hl_dump back to back? If you did, that's pretty cool. I remember seeing that info in a thread somewhere, just not sure which site it was on... I wouldn't do it again just to be on the safe side.

I know that winhiip has an option where you can backup the games that you have on your ps2 hdd. You would check off the games that you'd want to save and click on the extract images button.
