OK so today I finally got my Swap Disk and my Flip Top.
Here's the thing when I put my flip top on the PS2 it won't load up my Swap Disk, but when I just put on the top that says that thing about radiation(it is the one that normally holds the white thing) it loads up the disk no problem.
Anyone ever hear of this or anything?
Also when I put on the flip top I can't screw any of the screws in.

you sure it is the right one for your version of ps2?

Yes. The Version 4-8 is the one I got. Mine is a version 4 PS2.

Make sure the white thing is in the lift up lid of the flip top (and it is the right way round)
Also make sure the lid is pushed down properly (it can sometimes be held off a little, you need to "click" it down).
When you put a disc in make sure it goes under the little lip on the left hand side of the disc tray. Before you put the lid down make sure the disc spins freely.
If you are hearing scrathing and slipping noises then my guess is that the white magnetic disc isn't installed correctly, or it is in upside down.

When i bought my first fliptop, i had a similar problem
If i installed it and try to screw it down it would not work
If i put it on there and did not put the screws back in the bottom
it would play everything just fine. Has been working without
the screws in it for a few years now. Guess when i screw it
down it just gets too tight, even when i did the screws kind
of loose.

I'm really having a problem with that silver strip.
Not to mention a while back I screwed through it and now my blue light don't work so I can't shut off the PS2 with the green light.

well if you plan on replacing it you can get them
omline for under $5
What is the problem your having with the silver strip?

Well see I screwed through that thing once and now I don't have the same controls as I did before.
Also my PS2 just died on me.
Need a new one. Is the Slim PSTwo good for the Flip Top business? Also I don't want another dead PS2 on my hands.

Slim PSTwo's are alright. They do have aftermarket flip tops or slimtools that you can get so you can load games with Swap Magic
I love mine but i bought a premodded system
DMS4 Pro chip and Summone laser fix
they do tend to get a bit picky after an hour or two as far as
loading a game after you have played one for a while. But shut it down and get a drink for like 5 minutes and it's fine.
Also will give you a fit if you live in a house that stays warm
or has no AC. once they heat up they start acting a bit funny loading games, they just give you a black screen. Then you have to let it cool for a minute or try pressing reset a bunch until it will load the game. But that can be prevented if you take a small house
type fan and stick it in front of your PS2 and blow it right at the
unit to keep it cool.

they do premodded systems, installs and such
they have slim PSTwo's and also premodded brand new V7's
and the V7 is one of the best and harder to find, especially new.

I have a v12, mine doesnt ever really act funny that i notice. Plays backups just fine with swap magic disks and the slim tools. I did however have to replace the laser after screwing it up with improperly burned games(burner was in PIO mode and burning at up and down speeds, causing funky reads on the dvd's) Anyhow i got a replacement laser(v13 i think they fixed the voltage issue) and everything runs like a champ now. Just my 2 cents.

How much did it cost to have the laser replaced?

hi ive had my slim ps2 v12 using swapmagic since if 10/12/04 and have had no probs with it over heating of lazers probs i have it on for hours and no probs here i backup my games 100+ at 8x and all work fine
