Shortest route from VOB to MPEG

I have a disc from a vendor who converted some VHS content to digital format for me. But instead of giving me MPEGs I have a bunch of VOB/IFO/BUP files. I'm trying to import to Pinnacle which wants MPGs.

I'm running a conversion right now but the aspect ratio is wrong so clearly I need a bit more background than I'm starting with.

What's the shortest, quickest way to get this stuff in a format that Pinnacle wants?

Assuming it won't read VOB files that are just renamed to MPEG, you can use an MPEG editor like Womble Video Wizard or VideoReDo to open the VOBs and save them as MPEGs. If you want something free you could use DGIndex to open and demux the VOBs and Cutterman (a free MPEG editor) to re-mux them and save as MPEG. Cutterman requires the extra step because it can only read elementary streams.

Edit: If Pinnacle will accept elementary streams you could just use the demuxed streams from DGIndex.
